Interior designer’s stunning home hits the market and it is incredible – Extra.ie

A breathtaking home belonging to a top interior designer has hit the market and it has to be seen to be believed.

The home on Mount Merrion Avenue in Blackrock, Co Dublin, has hit the market for €1.35 million.

The terraced Victorian home was renovated by interior designer Jane Duffy-Lynch over the last 11 years.

She told the Irish Times that although the home was ‘structurally sound’ when she moved in, it was in serious need of a makeover.

The fruits of Jane’s labour are clear to see as the stunning house goes up for sale.

The mid-terrace house is three storeys tall and features five bedrooms and three bathrooms.

A mixture of both new and traditional decor gives the large 2,364 square foot house a homely feel.

A large blue Lanache cooker in the kitchen gives the home a country-style vibe. The dark blue timber cupboards brighten up the already airy kitchen.

Opposite the breakfast bar, there is plenty of room for a kitchen table to fit the whole family.

The living and reception rooms have a minimalist feel with sash windows and open fireplaces in both rooms.

Jane Lynch-Duffy’s interior design skills can be felt throughout the home as you move into the bedrooms.

Large windows in the master bedroom flood the room with light.  There is a range of built-in wardrobes and comes with its own en suite.

In an interesting twist, two of the house’s bedrooms are situated in the house next door.  Described as ‘flying freehold’, the house has full legal ownership of the two rooms.

One of the main attractions of the home, however, is the gorgeous garden. The large 100ft back garden was designed by Verney Naylor in 1983.

If this five-bed designer home is not big enough for you, however, there is planning permission in places to add a contemporary double-storey extension to the rear of the house.
