Ikea and Greyhound Original release new collection for small space living in Hong Kong – Time Out

Ikea has just dropped their latest collaboration with renowned Thai fashion, and lifestyle brand, Greyhound Original and the collection celebrates small space living and gives the nod to Asian culture.

Greyhound Original has been in the business since 1980 in Bangkok, initially selling men’s casual wear and then expanded to women’s wear and accessories. Today, the brand is one of the most cutting edge lifestyle brands in Thailand anchored in minimalist contemporary aesthetics. Ikea approached the brand because of their experience in combining fashion and street culture and reusing and repurposing materials into something new. The result is a limited collection of multifunctional, small space living home products called Sammankpoppla (means ‘unify’ or ‘interconnect’).

LED multi-use lighting

Creating a blend between Ikea’s minimalism and the classic street style of Bangkok, this collection boasts some of the most versatile and affordable home furnishings that Ikea has released to date. With more than 20 products available, the new collection utilises recycling, reusing, and repurposing materials with products like rugs made from recycled plastic straws and a multi-purpose LED lamp made from recycled PET liquid bottles. From shelving units to flatwoven rugs, chair covers in the shape of a hoodie to classic Thai-style triangular-shaped cushions, there’s something stylish for every home.
