Pregnant Jenna Dewan Reveals She May Want More Kids After Baby No. 2
Baby No. 2 hasn’t yet arrived yet but Jenna Dewan is already thinking of the future. During a new episode of Eric Winter and Roselyn Sanchez‘s “He Said, Ella Dijo” podcast, the dancer, 39, opens up about her second pregnancy and whether or not she wants to have more than two children.
“I do like people pregnant,” the Flirty Dancing host says in Us Weekly’s exclusive sneak peek. “The first trimester of this particular pregnancy, I was sick a lot. I was nauseous a lot. … but I like to be pregnant, I’m pretty good.”
Dewan shares 6-year-old daughter Everly with ex-husband Channing Tatum. In September 2019, she revealed she was expecting her first child with boyfriend Steve Kazee.
Winter, 43, and Sanchez, 46, ask Dewan if she’s planning to have even more kids after the second baby arrives — and the former World of Dance host isn’t sure how to answer.
“This time around, people are asking me, ‘Are you done?’ Every time I go to say, ‘I’m done,’ I can’t say it, so it’s very interesting to me,” the Soundtrack star revealed. “I’m going, ‘Am I going to have another kid?’ I don’t know, I’ll leave it up to the universe.”
Earlier this month, the pro dancer opened up about how her daughter is handling the new pregnancy.
“She just said to me this morning, ‘I’m preparing myself for that baby to cry all the time,’” she told reporters at the time. “It was so adult and she asked me if the baby cried in the night, could she get out of her bed and go sing the baby a song? And I was like, ‘That is so sweet.’”
She added: “She’s excited. She’s old enough to understand that she’s going to have responsibilities and she’s a big sister. She’s taking it very seriously.”

Bring on the butterflies! Kylie Jenner rang in her Stormi Collection with her daughter on Sunday, January 26.
“Happy Sunday,” the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star, 22, captioned a photo of herself on Instagram ahead of the bash. “The Stormi Collection launches in just 6 days! I can’t wait to celebrate with my baby today.”
The Kylie Cosmetics creator went on to share footage from the toddler’s party, complete with a fairy dust craft station, a ball pit and butterfly-shaped snacks. Khloé Kardashian attended the backyard bash along with her 21-month-old daughter, True. Kim Kardashian’s 2-year-old daughter, Chicago, and Rob Kardashian’s 3-year-old daughter, Dream, were also there celebrating Stormi.
The Kylie Skin creator, who welcomed her daughter with Travis Scott in February 2018, announced earlier this month that a Stormi collection was on its way.
“I think I’ve been waiting for this moment since the day I found out I was pregnant,” the reality star captioned a July 17 Instagram video. “An entire collection by @kyliecosmetics dedicated to my beautiful daughter. I can’t wait for the reveal!!!! You will fall in love. The Stormi Collection launches 2.1.20.”
In the mother-daughter footage, Jenner held the toddler while confetti rained down around them.
It’s been a big month for Stormi, who celebrated her 2nd birthday at Disney World earlier this week. “Storm’s first Disney trip,” the E! personality wrote alongside a photo of her daughter riding a plane with Minnie Mouse ears on her head, a matching blanket on her lap and a stuffed animal beside her.
Kourtney Kardashian, her 7-year-old daughter, Penelope, and Kris Jenner joined in on the family fun. Even Scott, 27, came despite splitting from Kylie in October.
The former couple have been coparenting amicably since their breakup. “It’s really whatever is best for Stormi,” a source told Us Weekly exclusively that same month. “Travis knows what an incredible mom Kylie is and will make whatever situation work.”

Kylie Jenner Honors the Helicopter Pilot Who Died in Kobe Bryant’s Crash
Heartbroken. Kylie Jenner mourned the death of the helicopter pilot who died alongside Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gianna, and six others in a fatal crash on Sunday, January 26.
CBS News confirmed the pilot’s identity on Monday, January 27, along with the remaining crash victims. Ara Zobayan earned his commercial pilot’s license in 2007 and was qualified to fly in extreme weather conditions. Jenner, 22, revealed via her Instagram Story the same day that she had flown with the pilot several times in the past.
“Rest in peace … and prayers to these families,” the makeup mogul captioned a picture showing each of the victims’ faces. “I still can’t believe this. That was the helicopter I would fly on from time to time with that pilot, Ara. He was such a nice man. Hold your loved ones close.”
The chopper involved in the crash was a Sikorsky S-76B model that had never experienced any prior accidents or safety issues, according to the National Transportation Safety Board. After hearing reports of the crash, the manufacturing company sent their “sincerest condolences” to the families of those who were killed and noted on Twitter that they were willing to cooperate with any further investigations into the crash.
Jenner was a frequent flier with Zobayan, even taking her niece, Dream, on a helicopter ride for her 3rd birthday in November 2019.
“Took Dream on her first helicopter ride,” the Life of Kylie star wrote over a photo of the birthday girl smiling in front of the helicopter on her Instagram Story at the time. “Happy birthday baby girl … you are a gift.”
Rob Kardashian, who shares Dream with his ex Blac Chyna, also shared a sweet snapshot of his daughter’s birthday festivities. The toddler stood in front of the chopper holding a huge vanilla cupcake in Kardashian’s Instagram post captioned, “Happy Birthday Dream.”
Though the helicopter in question had a previously strong safety record, the foggy conditions on Sunday could have contributed to the unexpected accident. A spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department’s Air Support Division told the Los Angeles Times, “The weather situation did not meet our minimum standards for flying. [The fog] was enough that we were not flying.”
Despite the frightening conditions, Zobayan’s aircraft had been approved for flight before the group took off from John Wayne Airport.
Vicki Gunvalson’s Daughter Says Her Mom’s ‘RHOC’ Exit Is ‘Very Sad’
Daughter-mother solidarity! Briana Culberson thinks it’s “very sad” that mom Vicki Gunvalson is leaving The Real Housewives of Orange County but appreciates the “wonderful journey.”
Culberson, 32, sounded off on the news via Instagram on Sunday, January 26, after another user posted a comment on one of her husband’s uploads. “Wishing Briana would make a statement regarding the show!” the user wrote on Ryan Culberson’s photo of the couple in North Carolina.
Briana replied: “I’m not really a ‘statement’ kind of girl, but I will say that it’s very sad and the end of a wonderful journey for my mom. We’ve had a lot of fun as a family on the show and I’m very proud of her and love her. Her absence will be significant and she will be very missed on the show.”
Gunvalson, 57, bid farewell to RHOC in an Instagram post on Friday, January 24. “I will always be the OG of the OC, but it’s time to say goodbye to The Real Housewives of Orange County,” she wrote at the time. “It’s been an incredible ride for 14 years and I want thank all of you for your support, for your love and for ‘whooping it up’ with me along the way.”
She went on: “I’ve been working on new projects that will be exciting, empowering and inspirational,” she explained. “My podcast with Westwood One will be launching soon and I will have much more to say about this on ‘Whoop it up with Vicki’ . I hope you will join me with my new journey so please stay tuned.”
Gunvalson exclusively explained to Us Weekly she left because she and Bravo were “unequally aligned,” and a source told Us that she wasn’t asked to return to RHOC. “She made it very clear that she wouldn’t come back as a friend so they wouldn’t try to offer her that again,” the source added.
The reality star came under fire during the season 14 reunion in December 2019 after she called out costar Braunwyn Windham-Burke for kissing Tamra Judge.
On Sunday, January 26, the businesswoman agreed with a Twitter fan who observed that Andy Cohen didn’t have her back during the reunion. “No HE didn’t! Very telling to say the least,” she wrote back. “Shouldn’t have stayed as long as I did.”
In a separate tweet, Gunvalson wrote, “The show was going down a very bad path. I’m feee [sic] now to do what I want!”
Chris Evans and More Boston Stars Appear in Super Bowl 2020 Commercial
Wicked smaht! The New England Patriots aren’t playing in the Super Bowl this year, but Boston is still getting some love thanks to a new Hyundai commercial.
Massachusetts natives Chris Evans, John Krasinski, Rachel Dratch and David Ortiz all put their Boston accents on display in the car company’s Super Bowl 2020 ad, focused on the Sonata’s newest feature … the smart park, or rather, the “smaht pahk.”
The commercial shows Boston in all its glory as Evans, 38, watches as many drivers try and fail to park in a tight spot. As the Saturday Night Live star, 53, and Captain America actor chat on the sidewalk, Krasinski, 40, shows up with a new car that is ideal for parking in this environment.
“Look at these two troublemakers,” the A Quiet Place director says as he pulls up in his flashy new ride.
Evans tries to warn him that he can’t fit the car in there, but he’s not deterred. “Chris, stop being a smarty pants alright,” Krasinski says before jumping out of the car to let it park itself — with the touch of a button. “Look who’s got smart park!”
The Office alum reveals that the vehicle is “wicked smart and I can park it anywhere” before both Dratch and Evans test him on all the big locations in the area that aren’t easy to park at. Foxborough? Check. The Garden? Check. The Harbor? He’s parked it and unparked it there.
The trio of actors aren’t the only ones who are impressed by the “ghost car.” Ortiz, the legendary Boston Red Sox player, calls the car “wicked smart” from his window in the ad too.
Hollywood’s Boston stars aren’t shy about showing love for their hometown or their sports heroes, like Tom Brady.
After the Patriots won the Super Bowl in 2017, Evans told Jimmy Kimmel that he doesn’t know if he loves the football team or Brady himself more. “I love the Patriots, I like any sports entity, but Tom is a special man,” the Avengers star said on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in April 2017.
“I didn’t meet Tom, and I’m not sure if I want to,” he admitted after attending a Patriots afterparty where the quarterback was in attendance. “It’s almost become now, like, I just want to let him be the thing that I imagine he is and that’s it. That’s good enough for me.”
Krasinski on the other hand previously joked to The Improper Bostonian that the people of Boston run the world.
“Boston is actually the capital of the world. You didn’t know that?” the Jack Ryan star told the publication in 2012. “We breed smart-ass, quippy, funny people. Not that I’m one of them. I just sorta [snuck] in under the radar.”

Singer Ella Mai made a strong case for wearing red eyeshadow at the 62nd annual Grammy Awards. The R&B Album of the Year nominee got glammed up by celebrity makeup artist Emily Cheng using a lineup of top-rated Shiseido products — and the beauty expert gave Us some behind-the-scenes scoop about how the look came to life.
The 25-year-old star lit up the red carpet in a fire-engine-red custom Emporio Armani gown and an elegant diamond necklace. To complement her sexy, chic ensemble, Cheng opted for a relatively simple makeup look, consisting of glowy, flawless skin, subtle winged eyeliner and just a touch of red eyeshadow to match her gown.
“Ella has these beautiful almond-shaped eyes that I love accentuating,” explained the makeup artist. “With this gown, I wanted to do a smokier eye but instead of a classic black I incorporated the red from the gown as the main hue.”
She continued, “I was thrilled when I got word that her dress was going to be this rich beautiful red as I love to playing with shades of red and pink on the eyes. I think it’s such a beautiful and flattering color on all skin tones.”

Alan Bersten: How Hannah’s Visit With Peter Affected Her ‘DWTS’ Experience
What friends are for. Alan Bersten was always there for Hannah Brown during Dancing With the Stars — even when she went to visit Peter Weber on The Bachelor and things got very intense, very fast.
“She is a very honest person and I think she’ll say that it did affect her and you know, at the time, I wasn’t 100 percent aware of everything that was going on,” Bersten, 25, told Us Weekly exclusively on Monday, January 27, while promoting the upcoming “Dancing with the Stars: Journey to Paradise” fan event. “She told me some things … luckily I was able to help her get through it.”
The former Bachelorette, also 25, returned to see Weber, 28, on The Bachelor premiere, which was filmed on September 19 — three days after she and Bersten made their debut on the Dancing With the Stars season 28 premiere. She appeared again on the reality dating show to host a group date — and admit to Weber she regretted choosing Jed Wyatt over him — on September 24, one day after week 2 of DWTS aired.
The So You Think You Can Dance alum admitted that Brown often became “emotional” in rehearsals but he always reassured his partner.
“It was a very real moment and you know, she realized that I was there for her. If she needed anything I could help her own and she could confide in me,” he said, but didn’t want to comment on her relationship with the pilot. “I don’t watch the show enough to know enough about Peter, so I want her to be happy.”
Brown will join Bersten on the Dancing With the Stars tour on Tuesday, January 28, in New York City. In May, Bersten and many other fan favorites — including judge Bruno Tonioli, alum Joey Fatone, Ginger Zee, Rashad Jennings and pros Cheryl Burke, Val Chmerkovskiy, Jenna Johnson and more — will head to the Bahamas for “Dancing with the Stars: Journey to Paradise.”
Bersten noted that there’s been “no stress” with the tour — things are much different than they are during the show: “When we’re on tour, it’s a celebration. You just enjoy every day!”
Prince William, Duchess Kate Attend Event Honoring Holocaust Survivors
Giving back! Prince William and Duchess Kate stepped out together on Monday, January 27, to attend an event honoring Holocaust survivors.
William, 37, and Kate, 38, attended the U.K. Holocaust Memorial Day Commemorative Ceremony in Westminster, England. The event, which marked its 75th anniversary on Monday, honors the liberation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp.
“During the ceremony, The Duke read an extract from a letter written about his great-grandmother, Princess Alice, which described how she helped hide her Jewish friends, the Cohens, in her home,” Kensington Palace revealed in an Instagram post on Monday. “During the service, 75 candles of remembrance were lit to represent the 75th anniversary of the end of the Holocaust. After the ceremony, the duke and duchess spoke to Holocaust survivors, and survivors of genocides which have happened since.”
Ahead of Monday’s commemoration, Kate met with Holocaust survivors Steven Frank and Yvonne Bernstein. The Duchess of Cambridge took photos of the survivors with their families, which were released on Sunday, January 26, before Monday’s event. Her photos will be featured in a special exhibition later this year.
“I wanted to make the portraits deeply personal to Yvonne and Steven — a celebration of family and the life that they have built since they both arrived in Britain in the 1940s,” a statement from Kate posted to Kensington Palace’s Instagram read on Sunday. “The families brought items of personal significance with them which are included in the photographs. It was a true honour to have been asked to participate in this project.”
Kate continued, “I hope in some way Yvonne and Steven’s memories will be kept alive as they pass the baton to the next generation.”
William and Kate’s Holocaust memorial appearance came not long after the royal couple attended their first joint engagement of 2020. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visited Bradford, England, to meet with various groups and local organizations. Their appearance occurred in the wake of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s “step back” announcement from January 8, during which the Duke and Duchess of Sussex stated that they would “become financially independent.”

Stars Who Have Donated to the Australian Bushfire Relief
Chris Hemsworth joined the growing list of celebrities donating to Australian bush fire relief in the wake of the catastrophic bushfires devastating the country.
The Avengers star announced on Monday, January 6, that he is giving $1 million to help support firefighters as they battle the blazes across his home country. “Every penny counts so whatever you can muster up is greatly appreciated,” he wrote on Instagram.
Pink announced on Friday, January 3, that she is donating $500,000 to Australian fire services in the “I am totally devastated watching what is happening in Australia right now with the horrific bushfires,” the “Just Give Me a Reason” singer, 40, wrote. “I am pledging a donation of $500,000 directly to the local fire services that are battling so hard on the frontlines. My heart goes out to our friends and family in Oz.”

The Grammy winner is one of the country’s best-loved stars, breaking records with her concert ticket sales Down Under.
Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban, whose Australian farm is under threat in the fires, posted on Saturday that they are also donating $500,000 to firefighters.
At least 200 bushfires raging across the country have burned more than 15 million acres, killing at least 20 people with dozens missing. By comparison, the California wildfires in 2018 burned an area of less than 2 million acres.
“We’re in the middle of a war situation … mass evacuations, the involvement of the military, hugely exhausted firefighting campaigns, it’s difficult to explain,” David Bowman, a professor of pyrogeography and fire science and the director of the Fire Centre Research Hub at the University of Tasmania, told Time magazine.
It’s estimated that almost half a billion animals, including kangaroos and koalas, have been killed by the bushfires.
Animal hospitals are struggling to care for the numbers of wildlife brought in for treatment for burns, while volunteers are going into fire-ravaged areas to look for injured animals and provide food and water for those that have survived.
Terri Irwin has shared information on how her Australia Zoo’s Wildlife Hospital — which has treated 90,000 patients since it opened in 2004 — has been caring for injured animals. But sadly, not all of her updates have been positive.
Posting a photo of a possum named Blossom, who was badly burned in a bushfire in Queensland, Irwin tweeted on Friday, “It is with a heavy heart that I must share, dear Blossom and her two babies did not survive. Their injuries were too extensive from the bushfire. They were comforted, given pain relief, and received the best medical treatment possible. Today has been tough.”

Andy Cohen Reacts to Tamra Judge’s ‘Very Dramatic’ Exit From ‘RHOC’
Andy Cohen opened up about Tamra Judge’s decision to leave The Real Housewives of Orange County after 12 years on the Bravo series, calling the exit “very dramatic.”
“Big weekend, big weekend in the Housewives world,” the 51-year-old said, phoning into his SiriusXM show, Radio Andy, on Monday, January 27. “I mean, it was very dramatic.”
The former Bravo exec, who executive-produces the Housewives franchise, was surprised to learn from cohost John Hill that Tamra, 52, unfollowed Cohen, her costars and the production company Evolution Media. “Oh, now this I didn’t know!” he said, laughing. “She unfollowed all of us on social media?”
Tamra announced her departure from RHOC on Saturday, January 25. “It’s been a wild 12 years. But it’s time to move on,” she wrote via Instagram. “Im sad to go but I’m very excited about my future. Love you guys.”
Us Weekly exclusively revealed later that day that Bravo tried to demote the real estate broker. “They offered her a part-time role and she declined,” a source told Us at the time. “She was on the fence anyhow.”
On Monday’s radio show, Cohen confirmed that Tamra was offered three episodes to come back and wrap up her storyline. “She didn’t want to do that,” he said.
He also explained the producers’ rationale for transitioning the CUT Fitness cofounder out: “Listen, she’s been on the show for 12 years. We wanted to give her a sendoff. She has been an incredible housewife, she really has. She’s been dramatic. … She has been great! We had been wanting to kind of … shake it up a little bit for a few years.”
Even though Tamra “seems pissed,” as Hill observed, Cohen is optimistic that RHOC viewers haven’t seen the last of her. “I’m hoping — and this is not lip service — I’m hoping that she will come back in some form in either this season or the next couple. I just think she’s just someone who I am always interested in. I always want to check in with her.”
He added, “I didn’t realize that about the unfollowing. … You know, it’s a process.”
Cohen reacted to Tamra’s exit via Twitter on Saturday, calling her tenure “an unprecedented run from a woman who was always entertaining, surprising and dramatic — and never ever aged.”
Nev Schulman Reveals How Many Kids He and Wife Laura Perlongo Want to Have
Keep ‘em coming! Nev Schulman and his wife, Laura Perlongo, are not done having kids after welcoming their second child in January 2019.
“There’s a plan for a third, for sure,” the producer, 35, recently told Us Weekly exclusively while promoting MTV’s Catfish: The TV Show with Kami Crawford. “Nothing’s baking [but] I was one of two and [Laura] was one of three, and she loved having two siblings and still does. So I’m into three. I think that’s the number.”
The New York native wed Perlongo, 34, in 2017. They welcomed their daughter, Cleo, now 3, the previous year, and she became a big sister when her baby brother, Beau, now 12 months, arrived.
Now that he’s raising two little ones, Schulman is “actively working on” how he responds to the “annoying things” they do. “You have a choice of you want to react to it,” he told Us. “ The other day I was holding my son [who is] just starting to now eat from those squeeze packs. Normally, he does a good job, but this time he just decided to squeeze it and I foolishly was dressed in my outfit for the day and it was just, like, brown goop all over me. I got annoyed. Not with him, but just at the situation.”
That’s when his wife stepped in. Perlongo said, “Hey, it’s funny. Don’t get annoyed, just laugh. Who cares?”
Schulman admitted, “She’s much better at this than me.”
However, the MTV personality was super supportive of his eldest when Cleo was nervous about starting school in September. He told Us exclusively at the time: “I had to come up with a way to calm her down so she would be comfortable going. In order to get her to take some deep breaths and relax, I hold up my fingers and I pretend like they’re birthday candles I tell her to blow them out, and every time she does one, I put one finger down. [After] four breaths, she usually sort of calms down and maybe I get a smile.”

Irina Shayk: Bradley Cooper and I Were ‘Very Lucky’ to Have Each Other
Opening up. Irina Shayk got candid about her relationship with ex Bradley Cooper during a rare interview about her personal life.
“I think in all good relationships you bring your best and your worst — it’s just the nature of a human being,” the 34-year-old model told British Vogue in her March cover story. “Two great people don’t have to make a good couple. “I think we’ve been very lucky to experience what we had with each other.”
Shayk and the actor, 45, called it quits in June 2019 after four years together. The former couple share 3-year-old daughter Lea De Seine Shayk Cooper.
“Life without B is new ground,” Shayk told the magazine. “It’s hard to find a balance between being a single mom and being a working woman and provider. Trust me, there are days I wake up and I’m like, ‘Oh my God, I don’t know what to do, I’m falling apart.’”
The former Sports Illustrated swimsuit model cited her toughness as the reason she doesn’t openly discuss her romance with Cooper — or any man — in the media.
“I have a strong personality and I definitely know what I want, and I think some men are scared of that,” Shayk told the magazine. “If somebody’s out of my life, they’re out of my life and I really cut all the ties, you know? I think some people are really scared of this coldness. I also think not many people know that underneath this there’s a nice, sweet person who cries in interviews.”
A source told Us Weekly in June 2019 that Shayk and Cooper’s relationship was “complicated” because of their daughter.
“They haven’t been getting along for a while,” a second source told Us at the time. “They are not in a great place.”
Shayk previously spoke to Glamour U.K. about her decision to stay mum on her private life in the media.
“I have a lot of friends who share a lot of their personal life on Instagram or social media, very publicly. I admire it and I think it’s great — but I think it’s all about personal choice,” she said in February 2019. “Because my work requires me to be out there, I just decided my personal life will be quiet. That’s why it’s called personal, because it’s something for you and your family and I feel happy with it.”
Gavin DeGraw: Brooks Laich, Julianne Hough Seem ‘Healthy and Fine’
It’s all good. Gavin DeGraw opened up about his podcast cohost, Brooks Laich, revealing that the athlete and his wife, Julianne Hough, are doing OK despite their alleged marital problems.
“You know, he’s doing very well,” DeGraw, 42, told Us Weekly exclusively at the MusiCares Person of the Year tribute in Los Angeles on Friday, January 24. “Yeah, he’s doing absolutely great.”
The “I Don’t Want to Be” singer admitted that he didn’t know much about the couple’s marriage, because Laich, 36, hasn’t “expressed those types of things,” but overall his friend is good. “Brooks is a one of a kind personality,” the artist told Us. “So everything seems healthy and fine.”
Us broke the news on January 8 that the Canadian athlete and the Dancing With the Stars alum, 31, were going through a rough patch after a source told Us exclusively that the pair “were having problems” in December 2019. An insider added that “everyone knows something is up.”
Laich first sparked rocky relationship rumors when he wrote via Instagram that he was “working on becoming a better man, a better version of me” in 2020 on December 30.
A day later, the professional dancer was spotted without her wedding ring while cohosting NBC’s New Year’s Eve with Carson Daly on December 31. She was also seen without her wedding band in Instagram videos shared on December 24 and January 3.
Despite split rumors, the couple was spotted hugging outside of the Hollywood Burbank Airport in Los Angeles on January 9. The following week, Laich told Us that men can be just as emotional as women.
“We don’t know the answer, we don’t have the way out,” the “How Men Think” podcast host told Us on January 18, about men in general. “Our emotions are real and we’re in it with our partner, our friend, whatever. And I think that’s a vulnerability that men maybe don’t show enough. It’s OK to say ‘I don’t know,‘ it’s OK to say ‘I’m scared too.‘ It’s OK to say those kinds of things that men may sometimes put on a facade and maybe pretend that they have everything figured out or handled, or it doesn’t phase them.”
On January 23, Hough’s brother, Derek Hough, told Us exclusively that his sister was killing it at the moment amid the relationship drama. “Julianne? Have you seen her lately? She’s having a blast,” Derek, 34, told Us at the time. “She’s on tour right now. She’s crushing it, man. She’s destroying it.”
The World of Dance judge also hyped up his brother-in-law saying, “I love Brooks, he’s my boy. My boy. He kicks my butt at ping pong all the damn time.”
Despite not knowing the inner workings of Laich and Julianne’s relationship, DeGraw told Us on Friday that watching his cohost on air — building a life after hockey — has been “great to see.”
“He’s got a great talent for it,” the New York native said of Laich. “He’s got a great knack for it, lovely guy. So just seeing that evolution as a friend is beautiful. It is beautiful to watch. And I say it’s nice to get in a room with people who are willing to share intimate details about their emotions.”

Kobe Bryant Filed to Trademark Gianna’s Nickname 1 Month Before Deaths
Like father, like daughter. Kobe Bryant filed a trademark for his daughter Gianna‘s nickname, “Mambacita,” less than one month before the pair died unexpectedly in a helicopter accident on Sunday, January 26.
According to information on the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office website, the late athlete filed the trademarks in hopes of creating athletic apparel — including shirts, hats, jerseys and more — emblazoned with his daughter’s moniker.
The 13-year-old’s nickname echoed Bryant’s self-assigned identity as the “Black Mamba.” The Los Angeles Lakers player explained the reasoning behind his unconventional nickname during a 2018 interview with the Washington Post. After watching Quentin Tarantino‘s Kill Bill: Vol. 2, during which a character is attacked by one of the terrifying snakes, Bryant found a strange connection to the deadly animal.
“The length, the snake, the bite, the strike, the temperament,” Bryant revealed at the time. “‘Let me look this s–t up.’ I looked it up — yeah, that’s me. That’s me!’”
Throughout his 20-year career, Bryant embodied the “mamba mentality” in more ways than one. His alter ego helped him get into the mindset of a deadly animal on the court, moving quickly and stealthily in every game. The Los Angeles Lakers legend even catapulted the hype into a brand, partnering with Nike to create some of the top signature sneakers in the sport.
In 2018, two years after his NBA retirement, Bryant cofounded the Mamba Sports Academy, an extensive training facility in Thousand Oaks, California, for top-tier youth athletes. He and Gianna were on their way to the academy ahead of a big game when their helicopter went down and burst into flames. None of the other seven passengers survived the crash.
The Oscar winner coached his daughter’s AAU team and previously opened up about their father-daughter dynamic on the court. Gianna was a dedicated athlete and had dreamt of playing for the University of Connecticut women’s basketball team in the future.
“Gianna’s pretty easy to coach. We haven’t had any issues of a dad-daughter sort of thing,” Bryant told Entertainment Tonight in 2018. “She’s very competitive and she’s a hard worker, so there haven’t been any issues with that.”

The late basketball player died at the age of 41 on Sunday, January 26, in a tragic helicopter accident, along with his 13-year-old daughter, Gianna, and seven other passengers. The chopper was headed to Thousand Oaks, California, for a basketball game at the athlete’s Mamba Sports Academy when it crashed in Calabasas and caught fire. The father-daughter pair are survived by Vanessa, Natalia, 17, Bianka, 3, and Capri, 7 months.
The Olympian and his wife, who wed in 1999, welcomed their youngest daughter in June 2019 — and the California native wanted to try again for a baby boy “more than” her husband did.
“I love having girls — I’m super, super excited about that,” Kobe explained to Extra four months ahead of Capri’s birth. “Vanessa is as well. She wanted a boy so he can be mama’s boy forever — that sort of thing. We’ll see if I can deliver, I don’t know.”
The Philadelphia native added, “She’s like, ‘You go see if you can hit a clutch shot. You gave me all girls, let’s see if you can bring a boy!’ Nope, not yet. We’ll see.”
The late Los Angeles Lakers player loved his family of females, he gushed in July 2017. “My friends say, ‘It takes a real man to make a boy,’” he told the outlet at the time. “I’m like, ‘Dude, it takes a king to make a princess. Get in line.’ It’s pretty cool for me because its Daddy’s little princesses.”
That being said, Kobe dreamed of welcoming a fifth child. “I would go for a solid starting five, you know what I mean?” he explained to Ellen DeGeneres in April 2019. “You’d just have your own internal basketball team. We could. They’re doing well.”
