The home of the Kardashian-West family is an interesting one, to say the least. Kim Kardashian and Kanye West turned to Belgian designer Axel Vervoordt to envision an artful (if not always practical), minimalist interior, as we saw here. But that doesn’t mean the whole house is subdued. After all, we already know that this is a maximalist family when it comes to fridges! Well, those fans who were quick to criticize the mom-of-four for not having a kid-friendly house, clearly underestimated how substantial the Kardashian-West playroom is.
Today, Kim Kardashian-West took to her Instagram Stories to show followers inside her children’s playroom. If you recall the two-story playhouse that Kris Jenner gifted her granddaughter Stormi a few months ago, you’ll know this family goes all out when it comes to providing their kids with the best things to play with. The spacious Kardashian-West playroom is no exception. Inside there’s a concert stage equipped with a collection of musical instruments including a drum set, a few electric guitars, and some violins, which Kardashian-West mentions that North plays. There’s also a projector for the kids to watch movies on when they grow tired of playing band. In the corner, there’s a bunch of baby toys exclusively for Psalm.
Moving along, the room also has a picnic table where the kids sit down to do their homework. Nearby is a neatly-organized bookcase, lined with books arranged in color order, as well as a bunch of writing utensils. Kardashian-West notes that this is where the educational stuff lives. The back of the room has bleacher-like shelves where a hodgepodge of teddy bears dinosaurs toys sit. Underneath these bleachers are pull-out drawers, which Kardashian-West opens to show LEGOs and train sets. This is Saint’s section.
And what would a playroom be without a few pretend play structures? Kardashian-West shows us the mini ice cream stand, grocery store, kitchen, washer and dryer sets, which Chicago mostly uses. This grocery store play structure, however, is a little more advanced than the ones we grew up with. It has a working register and conveyor belt. “You can actually ring people up, ” Kardashian-West says, as she punches numbers into the register. Later you’ll see her walk around to the customer side to sign for her purchase. Of course, the surrounding area is packed with bins of pretend food.
Last but not least, we come to the extremely-organized craft closet. The room is lined with clear storage bins packed with crayons, markers, play-doh, and more (probably enough materials for an elementary school classroom, tbh, but we’re not hating). The closet also has a costume section boasting many princess gowns to dress up in, as well as a “Moana Hawaii section” and a “furry animal section.” Overall, the closet as well as the entire playroom is extremely organized. We give Kardashian-West major props for keeping everything in order.
Other items spotted in the playroom include a collection of rocking horses, a ball pit with an attachable slide, and an art easel for painting. Hopefully this will put to rest all the chatter that the home is too minimal for kids.
