Beauty For Real: Celebrity MUA, Arti Nayar on her minimalist skincare regime – Lifestyle Asia

One cannot define beauty. Everyone is beautiful in their own way. Everyone has certain parts of themselves that they do not like, but it is also their unique features that make them stand out. To me, beauty is an amalgamation of everything, perfection along with imperfections.

What is your daily skincare regime in the AM?

I start my day with the Clinique Moisture Surge Face Spray as a toner, it replenishes the skin’s moisture beautifully. I follow it up with the L’Occitane Shea Butter Ultra Rich Comforting Face Cream, a luxuriously nourishing formulation. I then use my favourite eye cream, also from L’Occitane called the Immortelle Precious Eye Balm, it contains hyaluronic acid and antioxidants, perfect for my skin. I then top it up with a Shiseido Sports BB Broad Spectrum Very Water-Resistant Wetforce with SPF 50, it’s a tinted sunscreen.

What kind of skin do you have and what extra care does it need?

I have combination skin and mostly my skin changes according to the season, in which case, it ranges from combination to oily only in summers. I make sure since I have oily skin, I don’t use products that are heavy and greasy. It’s important to know your skin and find products that suit you.

What is your makeup box filled with – talk us through some of the stars?

What is your PM skincare routine like?

I do follow the same morning routine but at night, I replace the sunscreen with my favourite Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex

What are the pampering sheet masks / facial masks you use?

I have personally used and loved sheet masks and face masks from Innisfree, Starskin and Dot & Key and I love them.

A very “extra” product you have in your kitty that everyone must try?

Makeup Forever Diamond Aqua Liner, it’s a lot of fun and looks gorgeous.

Haircare routine you follow.

I use a hair mask twice a week and oil my hair for 20 mins with castor and olive oil every week.

Any beauty DIYs you follow?

I have a great DIY for when my skin becomes too oily. Make a mix of grated potato, besan, milk and rosewater into a face mask. It gives me an immediate glow and controls oil quickly.

What is your most extravagant purchase in beauty?

Christian Louboutin lipsticks have been a splurge, and I love them.

Nail must-haves?

For nail care, the most important thing one should invest in is a cuticle oil, and make sure that you are filing and cutting them regularly. I absolutely love nail paints by O.P.I and Sally Hansen.

Travel products you love and carry?

I never leave home without my favourite perfume, a good hand cream, a simple lip balm and chewing gum.
